Indonesia's Bridging Visa, officially known as the Transitional Stay Permit (Izin Tinggal Peralihan), allows eligible foreign nationals to transition from one immigration status to another without leaving Indonesia.

What is a Bridging Visa?

A Bridging Visa is a temporary stay permit that allows eligible foreign nationals already in Indonesia to remain legally in the country while transitioning to a new visa or residence permit.

For example, eligible applicants may:

• Transition from a Visit Stay Permit to a Limited Stay Permit (KITAS).

• Apply for a new stay permit when their existing KITAS or KITAP can no longer be extended.

Without the Bridging Visa, many applicants previously had to leave Indonesia before applying for a new visa.

Who Can Apply?

The Bridging Visa may be available to eligible foreign nationals who are already in Indonesia and hold:

• A Visit Stay Permit (ITK)

• A Limited Stay Permit (KITAS)

• A Permanent Stay Permit (KITAP)
